The U.S. Land Port of Entry in Colombus, NM, has been named in AIA\u2019s 2020 Cote Top Ten Aw<\/span>ards, which recognizes 10 innovative projects for their integration of design excellence with environmental performance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The project was led by Richter Architects, with IMEG providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and <\/span>security\u00a0<\/span>engineering design\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>services\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>$68 million facility, which provides safe and efficient international entry processing for people and goods crossing the border.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The building\u2019s sustainability features include photo-electric power<\/span>\u00a0from 43 roof monitors, multi-zone variable refrigerant HVAC\u00a0<\/span>to transfer load across zones during\u00a0<\/span>simultaneous<\/span>\u00a0heating and cooling, energy recovery outside air units, hydronic solar panels for domestic water heating, high-efficiency LED lighting<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0occupancy<\/span>\u00a0and daylighting controls, and naturally ventilated spaces.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
