The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will host “African Startups Pitch” at PACIFICO Yokohama Exhibition Hall B ブラック ジャック 遊び方ugust 30, 2019, as an official side event of the Seventh Tokyo International Conference ブラック ジャック 遊び方frican Development (TICAD7) ブラック ジャック 遊び方ugust 28-30. Co-organized by JETRO, the Japan International Cooperatiブラック ジャック 遊び方gency (JICA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), this event aims to provide up-to-date information ブラック ジャック 遊び方frican startups as potential new partners and investment opportunities for Japanese companies looking to expand into Africa.
Mobile apps are now a new social infrastructure in Africa, as seen for example with the rapid spread of mobile payment such as M-Pesa(1) . As a result, there is an increasing number of startups developing products and services targeting the previously difficult to access lower income sector of the market. JETRO is collaborating with Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), the largest accelerator in Nigeria, for the first time to organize a pitch event featuring 10 deep-tech startups selected from over 200 applications.

- Casky (Morocco): Casky has developed a road safety device for motorcycle drivers in light of the increase in motorcycle taxis in Morocco. The helmet-attached IoT device lights automatically when braking or turning and sends alerts by SMS to relatives registered via a mobile app in the event of an accident or emergency. The company aims to find ways of collaboration with Japanese companies such as to expand sales through the combined sale of motorcycles and helmets in cooperation with motorcycle manufacturers as well as to develop new insurance products in cooperation with insurance companies by learning from their expertise on insurance rates.

- CHIL AI (Uganda): CHIL AI provides cervical cancer screening services using AI.
- LIFI-LED (Cote d'Ivoire): LIFI-LED uses LI-FI technology (Light fidelity - wireless optical communication based on LEDs) to deliver energy, connectivity and educational content to areas without communications infrastructure.

The morning and afternoon sessions will feature a broad range of insight and advice from experts and venture capitalists who are familiar with social entrepreneurship and the African market. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the possibilities of the African market and to get a sense of flourishing and innovative business in Africa with “leapfrogging” potential.
